    Leandros,

I think you need your .htaccess file permission to be 0644 for this to not happen. That is the only way we could duplicate your error.

Who is your hosting with? Email me at [email protected] if you have other questions

Probably yes my friend, without take care about it, i have a lot of issues about the server

I have this same problem – I’m assuming you activate this by going to the icon on the left hand side of the WP panel and then ticking the enable box?

However I have no idea what ‘I think you need your .htaccess file permission to be 0644 for this to not happen’ means!!!

    Can you help please?

You have to contact to your hosting providers and tell them to change permission, or you can do it alone.

    Thank you – that worked.

Funny…I was getting the same error and actually I changed .htaccess file permissions to 0775, enabled the plugin and updated…and only after did I change back to 0644.
While .htaccess file permissions was on 0644 it did not update – “Error applying settings.”
So here’s another solution for you…

I’m getting the same problem – it worked when I first installed it – logged out – checked GI and it was coming back with the Leverage warnings again – the enable box on the plugin was deactivated – & got the error message when applying. It was set to 644 , then tried 775 (didn’t work) – and back again – didn’t work – I am on the latest WordPress, it does say its untested so maybe now it is incompatible ….?

Hi angiefuz, just try changing file permissions….AFAIK it worx also with the latest
