I just updated the free Yoast plugin to version 16.9 and the website then crashed with a 502 Gateway error and then I got this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 805306368 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 154618821192 bytes) in /home/customer/www/printfile.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/functions.php on line 32
There has been a critical error on this website.

I was able to restore my site to the backup version before the update and is up and running now but I won’t be updating the plugin for now.

    I thought you should know.

    Hello Moraima,

We are sorry your website crashed after the update but glad you were able to restore it via a backup.

Issues like this could be that your site does not meet the plugin requirements. Can you please confirm that your website meets the plugin requirements? For more information on all of the plugin requirements, you can refer to this article — https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/.

Ok, We were meeting all the requirements, it looks like there was something else that caused an issue on our website and that caused the issue when updating the plugin. I have updated the plugin now and it all seems to be working fine, thank you!
