Error after Update “Deprecated: _register_controls…”

    Hi there,
    after updating Elementor to the latest version, I had an error (“kritischer Fehler”) on my website.
    Debug result is:

    I changed the PHP Version (from 7.4 to 8.0), regenerated the Elementor CSS file, changed Memory Size, but nothing helped. I deleted and reinstalled Elementor, still the same problem. I also deactivated all the other plugins, but the problem is clearly Elementor ??

    I used my backup now to go back to the older version of Elementor and everything works again. But that’s of course not a solution in the long way.
    What can I do?

    Hello! I use Phlox Theme. I have many websites with this combination phlox and elementor, but only this one causes trouble.

    Did you try to change the theme?
    Switch your theme (temporarily) to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Sixteen and see if it makes any difference.

    Elementor has been created to be compatible with almost any WordPress theme as long as it has been very well coded following WordPress coding standards.

    Please note that we do not make recommendations for any specific themes as we do not control the way these are created.

    Yes, I tried that and it worked. But of course I don’t want to change the theme. Is there another solution?

    Since the issue is caused when the theme is activated and as we have no control over coding for third-party themes, I highly recommend that you report this issue to the support team for this theme so they may further troubleshoot and provide a solution.

    If they need any technical details regarding Elementor, they are free to open an issue on our Github page where our developers will be happy to collaborate directly with them.
