    Hi

I just installed the Radio Station plugin on a wordpress installation, running the latest version.

Every time I try to activate the plugin, I get the message “There has been a critical error on this website” and I have to delete the plugin manually via FTP. I was wondering if you have any advice on how to get it working?

    Thanks

    Hi Again!

Just thought I should let you know that I’ve solved the problem.

My website was using PHP 8, which doesn’t seem to be supported by your plugin yet. Using PHP 8 causes this error: An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 830 of the file /var/www/vhosts/[domain]/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/radio-station/reader.php. Error message: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported.

I’ve dropped to PHP 7 for now to get the plugin working, though you might want to fix this issue in a future release ??

    Thanks!

@harrytsmith126 Thanks for reporting, this issue has been fixed in the development version for the next release.

Ironically this file is the Markdown parser class from WordPress, which looks like it hasn’t been updated in a long time (at least I can’t find the updated version that they are using currently anywhere.)

@harrytsmith126 Had another look around and it seems that Markdown might live in Jetpack not in core so I will check for an updated version there.
