• Hello All,

I’ve managd to lauch my website yesterday, and I wanted to fasten it a bit. I’ve installed Autoptimize and WP Super Cache.

After about 15 minutes I activated WP Super Cache, I started to have this error message :

Your server is running PHP version 5.4.45 but WordPress 5.3.1 requires at least 5.6.20.

either with admin and website. This is annoying.

I’ve removed both plugin, but I still have this message from time to time and I need to retry several time to get my pages.

I’ve removed all cache directories, but still there.
I’ve reinstalled WP 5.3, but still (either on mobile and PC)

    My config : PHP 7.2 / WP 5.3FR / JetPack / Theme : OneSite – from SiteOrigin
Everything was OK before this afternoon.

    Any help please ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Cyril.

  • You might have PHP 7.X available but your site is still seeing PHP 5.4.X

Call your host and ask them to help you get PHP 7.X running…

This is not your WordPress causing this problem… WordPress is just reporting the problem.

Some hosts also run several PHP versions, have them check into that. If you have SSh access to your hosting space you may check the PHP version with $ php -v.

As what people are suggesting is correct. your wordpress installation appears to be using 5.4.45.

Assuming you are on shared hosting with cPanel control panel.
Login to cPanel >> Select PHP version >> Change version to latest PHP version. [ screenshot ]
    (a) Click on drop down and select the PHP version you would like to use.
    (b) Click on “Set as Current”.
