I am trying to configure the Google Analytics plug in. I have made sure that I am logged in to the correct Google account. I have tried logging out of my Google account. I have deactivated and uninstalled the plug in, reinstalled and activated and am still receiving the same error message. The site health status is good as well. I am running WordPress 5.4.2 with Site Kit Google Version 1.13.1. Thank you for your help!

Many thanks for sharing. It looks like you have a coming soon plugin active or feature enabled via your Bluehost plugin or control panel. You’ll need to launch your site or temporarily deactivate the “coming soon” feature while trying to setup Site Kit and the Analytics module.

Can you let me know if that works for you?

I launched my site and am still getting the ‘Error: Account token is missing.’

Thanks for providing an update. Now that you’ve launched your site can you try and open a browser incognito window and begin the setup process once more?

If setup fails can you provide a screenshot of your full dashboard where you encounter the error? In order to share a screenshot you can use any service you preferred, Imgur, FTP, Google drive or photos or a browser extension such as JumpShare.

No problem at all, I’ll try and recreate the same experience from my side using the same plugins and setup, while reporting back to you here.

In the meantime if you have any other WordPress sites hosted on the same server it might be worth checking does setup proceed using a standard WordPress setup.

Okay great! Thanks so much James! This is the only site that I have on WordPress. I’m a newby!!

Many thanks for your patience. I’ve setup a site using the same hosting provider and plugins although I’ve been unable to recreate the same Analytics setup issue. While I did encounter some possible conflicts this was during the plugin initial setup stage only.

In order to get you successfully connected with Analytics via Site Kit one troubleshoot step you can try would be the following:

    1. Disconnect the Analytics module
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”. (This will temporarily deactivate other plugins and switch to a default theme – for you only, as a logged in user).
    4. From the the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    5. Attempt to setup Analytics once more

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

Hi, I’m trying to configure my google analytics through my Site kit plugin and it’s not working. I don’t know what the problem is. I tried resetting the plugin but I still can get it to work. The site health is good and I’m running a WordPress 5.5. Thanks is advance

Hi again James! I apologize for the delay in my response…life has been a little crazy and I’m just getting around to this. I attempted what you sent me but was given an error message when I tried to enable Site Kit by Google through the Health Check & Troubleshooting plug in. Here is a screenshot of the error message I received. I really appreciate your help!

No problem at all, I’ve reopened the topic. I’ve requested access to that screenshot you’ve provided now also. If you can grant access or make it public I can check.

Many thanks for sharing the error. Do you encounter this same notice when trying to active any other plugins using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin, or just with Site Kit?
