    Hi

I just found your plugin and it appears to be amazing. But now that I tried it, most of the files got an error:

A file with that name already exists in the containing folder!

I don’t understand why some got that, and other got renamed fine. Look here at a section of the images after I ran the plugin:

    https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAu4OWJo

I used the setting: Rename and Retitle from post

    Did I miss something?

    Hope you can clarify..

    Hi @niwin,
I’m sorry, but I still have this issue, I’ve been extremely busy with my work in the past weeks, I hope to come back to Phoenix Media Rename next week.

I have a minor update to complete, test and release, then I will try to resolve the issue you reported: I’ve already designed a possible solution, but I have to implement the code and test everything, if everything will go as expected, I will release the fix on March 14 or 15.

I’ll let you know as soon as it will be ready.

    Hi @niwin,
I’m testing the new release that adds the option to auto serialize filenames if needed, I will release it on next Monday.

    Hi @niwin,
I just released version 3.6.0 that add the option you requested, let me know if everything is working as expected.

    Thanks!

First it seemed to work better, with only a few getting the “A file with that name already exists in the containing folder!”-error.

But as you can see here:

    https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEur1q1p

    It persists…

    Hi @niwin,
I found a potential issue and I (hopefully) fixed it, but I can’t release the update before next Monday, if you want to test it you can download it from here https://eurosoftlab.com/lab/pmr.zip and install it manually.

Good! I installed this new version, but this version has the same version name 3.6.0…

    (@crossi72)

Yes: I forgot to increase the version, it will become 3.7.0 ??

    (@niwin)

Okay, I did activate it an deactivate the original plugin, and tried to rename a bunch of files that stubbornly will not be renamed (all those have names like “img_*”) – but it did not work… will try again with the release next Monday. I’ll let you know how it works out.

    Hi @niwin,
version 3.7.0 is live, can you try it and tell me if your issue persists?

I (finally) found a case of infinite loop and fixed it: I hope this is your case ??

    Hi!

I ran the plugin again, but still no good :/

    https://share.getcloudapp.com/2NuzwpxA

This was on all images in library that matched the search criteria of “img_”. Most of them are uploaded to a page/post, but it just doesn’t work…. so frustrating. Any new ideas?

    Hi @niwin,
can you try to disable all other plugins, rename the files and re-enable all other plugins?

I think there is a compatibility issue with one of your plugins, this way we can confirm or exclude this, if this is the case you can enable your plugins one by one to get the incompatible one and tell me whish is, so that I can add compatibility or contact the developers to ask them to add compatibility (Phoenix Media Rename notify the rename process to other plugin, to help manage compatibility issues).

Let me know if you can try this kind of test.

    Tested on the dev-site, in.sinkadus.com:

Still doesn’t work (I also changed to standard WP-theme) :/
