    Hi All,

I have a working hospitality website running and I’m having issues with some of my customers receiving an error on completing the order. (Which is extremely annoying for everyone involved).

    The full error is:

    “Error 503 Backend fetch failed

    Backend fetch failed

    Guru Meditation:

    XID: 605913441

    Varnish cache server”

I have no idea where the Varnish cache server lives whether it’s with the host or wordpress. I tried to speak with the host with little luck. Anyone have any insight on how I can resolve this? My clients are getting on my back about it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Maxine

  • Check your plugin and see if you have the Varnish plugin installed.

    Also, whats the website URL?

I don’t have any varnish plugin installed. Looked in all of my FTP files and nothing to do with it in there either.

    It’s https://royallondon.foodserve.net

Varnish is used to speed up websites, some web hosting companies use it and some don’t.

It seems Varnish is installed on server level, and that’s why you need to contact your web host about it.

Turns out it is at the host but they have no idea what they are doing.

Taking their sweet time to reply as well.

    Hi Bluesky,

I had to contact my host and they carried out checks on their server and the problem was solved after maybe 2 weeks of me chasing.

So I suggest contacting your host.

Glad you got it sorted ??

    @itchytrig,

If the info in this thread does not help, then as per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. That way you stand a good chance of getting full attention to your specific issue. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole.

    time to look at GoDaddy?
