    I have used Jetpack for years without issue, but in the past couple weeks I started being unable to see the Site Stats that Jetpack shows, and am receiving the following error:

    “ERROR 502 – BAD GATEWAY
    Why am I seeing this page?
    The server that your request has reached is acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfil the request made by your client.

    Web Browser => Web Front-End => Web Back-End

    This server (Web Front-End) received an invalid response from an upstream (Web Back-End) server it accessed to fulfil the request.

    In most cases this will not mean that the upstream server is down, but rather that the upstream server and the gateway/proxy do not agree on the protocol for exchanging data.

    This problem is most commonly caused when there is a problem with IP communications between the Web Front and Back-Ends. Before you attempt to resolve this problem you should clear your browser cache completely.

    Our support staff will be happy to assist you in resolving this issue. Please contact our Live Support or reply to any Tickets you may have received from our technicians for further assistance.”

    What seems to be causing this issue?

  • Hi @shiftisnow,

    What is the address of the site you are having trouble with?

    Based on the 502 errors above, it looks like this is something you will need to speak to your host about. They should be able to confirm whether anything has changed on their end in the last couple of weeks.

    It’s https://www.shift.is/

    I was also having an issue with my Google Analytics showing via Analytify (it was a 504 error) but I was able to make that issue go away by running optimizations via WP Optimize.

    It looks like you’re running both an old version of WordPress and Jetpack.

    Is there any improvement if you upgrade to WordPress 5.2.2 and Jetpack 7.4.1?

    That sounds like it could be the issue! Thanks, I will see to upgrading but that is likely the culprit which makes the most sense.
