I tried to replicate the problem you mentioned but unfortunately it could not be replicated. Therefore, it most likely has to do with an option in the plugin.
To detect exactly what creates the incompatibility, the next step would be to do a compatibility test.
Since this looks a lot like a conflict with some other code, the first / next recommended step is the conflict test (ideally in a staging environment):
* Briefly * disable all settings from the plugin; then one by one active them until you see when the problem reappears.
P.S — Try to disable any type of caching plugin you may have when you are doing this test.
