• I have looked through the related posts but haven’t seen one with my specific issue. i’m not very techy so apologies for the simplicity of this post!

I have been running a blog for a couple of years linked to my main website with no problems at all. This week I decided to install a new theme (Dandelion). After some trouble with the installation it got up and running and I started with page rewrites and customisation.

On trying to return to dashboard whilst editing the site I was redirected to my main website (completely unrelated to WP). Since then I have been unable to get back into the admin panel of my blog, getting an Error 500 message each time. During an attempt to back up and reinstall everything all my page rewrites and site customisations were lost. I managed to get a restore to last week but now what I am left with is my old blog site, no access to the admin area and all my new work lost.

I really want to get into my blog to start putting it right as it was supposed to be replacing my main website, but now all the static info pages are lost and all that remains are my original blog posts.

If anyone can help with this I’d be really grateful as I am at a complete loss as too what to do.

    Thanks

Just as an addition to this, is there anyway to restore the lost files of rewrites?

How did you do the restore? Your hosting provider should have a daily backup so you may be able to recover your old files. Even if the site doesn’t work, you can still grab the files you need and use them later once you get your site up and running the way you want.
