Error 500 and 504 related to plugins?

  • hi,
    i get an increasing number of 500 and 504 errors for my site and wonder if it is related to any of the plugins i have installed.

    i haven’t updated any code recently, only content and my scan with sitelock didnt return any malicious code.

    my server support detected bad bots for various pages but i can’t find where they are coming from.

    does anyone know if …
    a) I have too many (although I need most of them) or
    b) if any of them could cause the problems?
    c) are WP Optimize and W3 Total Cache the same?

    It might be worth mentioning that my page load times are enormous (up to 19 secs)
