  • Thanks for your report @mmubashar!

Do you have any security plugins or server configurations that may be restricting the length of URL requests?

If so, could you let us know which and temporarily disable them while you go through the setup process?

Let us know if this helps resolve the issue.

Additionally, here’s a list of plugins with known limitations in our documentation for reference.

    Hey @reneesoffice

Thanks a lot. Indeed, I had iThemes Security enabled with long URL truncation for security purposes. I disabled it and it installed like a charm! Thank you!

Btw, in the documentation, it’s stated as:

iThemes Security: In the General Settings tab, uncheck the Long URL Strings box. After you finish setting up Site Kit, you can re-enable this option.

It’s supposed to be “System Tweaks” instead of “General Settings”.

@mmubashar great to hear that solved it! Thanks for the heads up! We’ll work on getting that updated in the docs.

    Hi @reneesoffice

Turns out, the long URL is still required to be enabled even after authorization. It seems like the plugin makes a massive request in order to populate the data. After authorization, if I disable long URLs, the data would not populate again.

Refer to the following screenshot: https://prnt.sc/ptopvc

This is quite a worry though as long URLs can be abused and leaves a vulnerability.

@mmubashar thanks for the update and screenshot! I’ll do some further research and I’ll follow up with you soon.

@mmubashar I just want to send a quick update that we’re still doing some research. I’ll follow up when I have more information. Thanks again for your report.
