• Hello
I’m a beginner and have spent hours putting my holistic-approaches.com wordpress site pages together to replace my old coded site (creator left country!) so that I can easily update pages etc.

Last night I changed something to read holistic-approaches without the wordpress bit afterwards so that it could become my online site and since then no access or anything.

Have spent hours on the phone today to OVH who host the site and they aren’t allowed to help with website stuff! They’re talking sql backups, imports (file too large?!) and ftp and making my head spin! Surely there’s a simple way forward?

Please, can someone give me some simple step by step help.

I have thought about deleting the wordpress bit on OVH and re-installing but am worried that then I’ll have to start my pages all over again! Is this the case?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I was really enjoying my wordpress experience until then!

    Thank you

    Website is https://www.holistic-approaches.com

This doesn’t seem to be a WordPress site.

No the one you can see isn’t – that’s the old site that I’m replacing by wordpress one. The wordpress one comes up with error and no way for me to access it.

    https://holistic-approaches.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fholistic-approaches.com%2FWordPress3%2Fwp-admin%2Fedit.php%3Fpost_type%3Dpage&reauth=1

I try to do automatic upgrade 2.91 at my watch serials but i am getting a fatal error
“Allowed memory size of 25165824 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2516315 bytes) in wp-includes/http.php on line 1327”

You are getting that 404 error because you’re trying to access the WordPress admin panel on a site that is not a WordPress site.

Did you already upload all the WordPress files to the server, and set up a database you want to use for it?

You have some something and removed the wp files it seems. For example the file that should initially load up is index.php.

    I tried to access https://www.holistic-approaches.com/index.php but it seems, it’s a 404 error.

Btw your site looks very informative so bad u lost it. I can help you, but I need inside look on your file structure.

I made the mistake of taking wordpress out of the web address in just one area, possibly general thinking obviously wrongly that it would then take over the ‘old’ website!

My web hosts ovh talked me through an sql backup but I don’t understand quite how to import it or what to do with it, nor how/where to insert perl into the code on an ftp thingy! Too technical for this bear of smallish brain!!

I have got access to site on coffee cup and can see wp files but don’t know where to go from there.

If I add another wordpress to my web host, will I loose all my work? Perhaps that’s faster than figuring out access? I’d rather not if possible, but hey if I have to I’ll know how to make wp website even faster and better than first time round!

Thank you all for your time and help.

I unfortunately made this same exact error a few hours ago. I am on chat support with my hosting company (Verio) right now. Any suggestions from folks would be MUCH appreciated by me also.

    Dave

If Ivva and I uninstall and then reinstall our WordPress, does it delete all the database files that are already there? Would we lose the whole site? Seems like the files should all still be thee on the host–we just can’t get to them. If we could is there a file where the “wordpress/” part could be added back in?

This is the link I was given by web hoster. Any help to anyone?
    https://holistic-approaches.com/WordPress3/wp-login.php

Log into your server using FTP, go to the directory /WordPress3 and download the file wp-config.php.

Then open it in a text editor and add the following two lines to the bottom:

    update_option('siteurl','https://holistic-approaches.com/WordPress3');
    update_option('home','https://holistic-approaches.com/WordPress3');

Save the file, upload it back to the server and see if that solves the issue.

Ivva . . . The support team at my hosting company was able to fix my page for me. If all your files are still on their server then you should check with your hosting support and see if they can help you. Here’s what they sent me as their description of this problem:

The issue is that the website path was changed in the control panel from krausgrafik.com/wordpress/ to krausgrafik.com/

The path to the admin page is /www/htdocs/wordpress/wp-login.php and by changing the path in WordPress to krausgrafik.com/ The server will attempt to look for the admin page at the fallowing path /www/htdocs/wp-login.php causing the error.

I have restored the path in WordPress to reflect the correct path on the server. You may access the admin page by the fallowing URL

    https://krausgrafik.com/wordpress/wp-admin/

I hope that will help you! I was in full panic all night until I heard from them all morning!

    Best . . . Dave
