Error 404, Page Not Found | Link preview not working

    Hello Chris,

    I am facing an issue that the preview of the links is not loading and showing error 404, page not found. The articles are being shown in Google news but when you click on the link it is not being read and showing error 404, page not found.

    I had updated the version yesterday itself. All links are active and fine because it had read 2 days earlier. But we had to disable all plugins for debugging the site speed. When we enabled it, the link preview stopped working.

    Kindly assist. Tried recreating the publication as well.

    Looking forward for a resolution.

  • Hi Akashkamal,

    I don’t see any problems with the feed, I think the GN Publisher plugin is working correctly for you.

    If you don’t mind, what is the url to your publication on Google News? Or is it not approved yet?

    I havent applied as the preview links don’t open. I am afraid the application will get rejected. Articles are being read perfectly. Their links are showing an error. If the links are entered directly in the browser it works fine.

    Should I apply in this current state?

    No, I’ve seen publishers asking about this issue occasionally on the Publisher Help Forum, but I’ve never been able to track it down to anything specific.

    I would suggest contacting Google News Publisher support to see if they can see something that might be causing this.

    When they get back to you, I would appreciate it if you let me know what they have to say. If it’s something I can address through the plugin, I’d be happy to, but I think the problem might lie elsewhere,

    The issue got resolved automatically once I submitted the application yesterday.
