• Hi,

I did download the wordpress. and unzip it also did install mysql and did create an databse wordpress, after that in the IIS 6 of windows 2003 web edition did create an virtual directory and copy all of the content of wordpress folder to this folder. now here is the problem when I open the https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin I can see all of the files but when run the https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php I get the 404 error.
I know for sure that IIS on this server is configured for use with PHP becuse we can run othere PHP sites.

I did setup the wordpress on widows 7 and vista without any issue, and did use the same steps for this web server but I get still error 404.

    any ideas?

    Thanks

  • Are permalinks setup in WP?
Does IIS have a mod_rewite module installed?
Are you able to navigate to your other pages, such as “about”?

    Thanks for your update,

our IIS server is setup for use with PHP, I did use the wpilauncher to install the WP.
