Error 404
-
Hi, after desactivated the plugin, i got a error 404 everywhere. But, if i change the permalink, it’s OK. But i would like to use website.com/page no website.com/?p-2547
It’s a multisite installation. Using Litespeed server and plugin.

Hi,
If WPCA and its addons are not activated while you’re facing this issue, there’s almost no chance the issue comes from them.
However, I would recommend checking for a plugin conflict on your site:
- disable all plugins
- update permalinks and set to “post”
- see if permalinks work as expected
- then reactivate plugins one by one and re-set permalinks + test each time
If still not working, try to also switch theme for testing purposes.
Regards.
It is a wordpress multisite network installation. so, there is a site that is no longer accessible with a 404 error. And it happened when I activated your plugin on the default site, by mistake. All pages are 404, and I cannot access the site which is on the network.
thanks for ur help.update permalinks and set to “post” done
see if permalinks work as expected dont worksHello,
Sorry for the inconvenience.
update permalinks and set to “post” done
see if permalinks work as expected dont works- Did you try to update those permalinks witth WPCA being activated on your main site and/or on the sub-site ?
- At first, you were saying that the issue was occurring without WPCA activated, right?
- I would first recommend you to confirm that the permalinks correctly works with WPCA and its addons fully deactivated on both the main site, and the sub-site.
- If permalinks still do not work: this means the issue comes from something else than WPCA, since WPCA’s code isn’t running anymore, doesn’t affect permalinks anymore (permalinks are only affected by code, not DB), and therefore cannot be the culprit (=means it can be another plugin or your theme?).
- if permalinks work while WPCA and/or its addons are being deactivated, and if they keep stop working when you reactivate, it means WPCA itself could be buggy, or it could be conflicting with another plugin or your theme.
Please let me know about the results of those testing steps.
Note: When update permalinks, please update them for both the main site and the sub-site.
Regards.
Hello, i dont have access to the subsite, i got a 404 errors.
I desactivated all plugins, and the issu still, i got 404.
May i contact you by email?
Hello,
i dont have access to the subsite, i got a 404 errors.
Permalinks will only affect the frontend of your site. You should still be able to access the backend of the subsite directly via the wp-admin URL subsite.yoursite.com/wp-admin/settings.php
If you still get a 404 error while trying to reach the backend of your subsite, it definitely means that you’re getting a 404 error for another reason than faulty permalinks.
Regards.
the installation is not in a subdomain. But in a sub-file. So everything domain.xxx/xxx is not working and we have a 404 error. And as soon as I change the permalinks, this error disappears and we have access. And this happened as soon as I activated your plugin on the main site. So, yes, this is a problem, at least in part, with your plugin. But if you don’t want to push it any further, that’s OK. We will manage.
Hello,
the installation is not in a subdomain. But in a sub-file. So everything domain.xxx/xxx is not working and we have a 404 error
Could you try to access, as stated before, the subsite’s backend ? If your subsite URL is domain.xxx/xxx, you should be able to access its backend via domain.xxx/xxx/wp-admln, right ? As explained before, permaliniks misconfigurations would only affect your frontend, which is domain.xxx/xxx and should not prevent you to access the subsite’s backend. But maybe you have a differrent configuration from the one I am expecting?
And as soon as I change the permalinks, this error disappears and we have access. And this happened as soon as I activated your plugin on the main site.
Not sure I now undertsand. You’re actually telling me that resetting permalinks fixes the issue? I am now not sure where the issue actually is so. Sorry if I am confused.
I would recommend:
- deleting wpca from the main site
- clearing permalinks from the main site
- accessing the subsite from its wp-admin url, reactivating wpca, and reseting the permalinks
I hope that helps.
Regards.
This is why I asked you where to contact you by email, or otherwise. This would avoid these many questions and you could better assess the situation. Long story short, the subsite is neither frontend nor backend accessible. And when the permalinks are changed to “by date” for example, the primary site works. But the subsite is still not accessible (frontend and backend). And all the “hard links” in the menu or in a page (I don’t know if that’s the right word in English, which is not my native language), don’t work. We also had a paid addon that we uninstalled. I cleared all caches, deleted htaccess file, etc. Nothing works.
We desactivated wpca from the main site, it dont works. But not deleted. I’ll try this.I would recommend:
- deleting wpca from the main site
- clearing permalinks from the main site
- accessing the subsite from its wp-admin url, reactivating wpca, and reseting the permalinks
We finaly found the problem. That was with ur plugin, but not only. If you need more information, just ask and contact me over https://barreoblique.ca
