Hi again, I’ve renamed my .htaccess and i’ve gained access partially to my wordpress. I can’t visit pages, but I can deactivate the plugins.

I’ve disabled all plugins, went to permalink tab ay admin panel and boom, 403 error again.

It’s weird and I don’t know why installing polylang caused this mess. I’ve tried to fix it in several ways without success. Any ideas?

    Hello

If you still have the 403 error after the Polylang de-activation, then it means that the error is not coming from Polylang but from your theme or another plugin or your server.

WordPress generally specifies the error this gives you a hint. Please provide a copy screen.

EDIT: In the meantime see with your host provider if your permissions are set correctly.

    Hi Chrystl,

Thanks for your reply. It’s strange because It has been working fine until I installed Polylang.

The error 403 is coming from Apache:

    “Forbidden

You don’t have permission to access / on this server.”

    I’ve tried changing permissions of .htaccess to 777, 666, 644 and I haven’t succeeded.

I think that maybe Polylang messed with the database up or some wordpress files but I’m a little bit lost here.

    Thanks again!

    Try this:
    1- Rename your .htaccess
2- Go in Settings > Permalinks: Click on “Save changes”

WordPress will regenerate automatically the .htaccess

    Don’t use 777 or 666 it’s very dangerous.
