    Hello,

for 2 or 3 days I have noticed various errors: I cannot see the list of subscribers to my newsletter, nor the list of emails I’ve sent.
It gives the following error: An error has happened while performing a request, the server has responded with response code 400

Just now, I’ve checked if my “subscribe to my newsletter” form works and it doesn’t – I think the errors might be connected… it gives the error: an error happened while performing a request. please try again later.

    Please help,

    Magda.

  • Hi, @magdatabac!

If you’re seeing this error message when using a MailPoet 3 version higher than 3.60.4, it could mean that the subscription form is not working as expected because your website is using an older jQuery version.

We recommend using jQuery 3.6.0 and we only support 2.2.4+ or 1.12.4+, so you’ll need to update the jQuery version for your website in order to get it fixed. Alternatively, you can roll back to an older version of MailPoet 3 but we recommend getting jQuery updated rather than using an outdated version of our plugin.

Please give it a go and let us know.

    Cheers!

    Hi @dromero20,

Thank you for your message and advice.

I am not very technical (I take care of my site because WordPress makes it quite easy and I can manage plugins, as long as it doesn’t mean programming).

I’ve searched on the net how to update jQuery, and thus I have installed the following plugins: jQuery Updater and Enable jQuery Migrate Helper. I’ve tried with both active or with each of them active at a time but it still didn’t help. I get the same error. (I also installed Test jQuery Updates but deactivated it because it was not working with my current WordPress 5.7.2).

It would really help me to have a step-by-step instruction on how to update the jQuery version to 3.6.0.

    Thank you very much,

    Magda.

    Hi!

It would really help me to have a step-by-step instruction on how to update the jQuery version to 3.6.0.

Right, updating jQuery is actually a very technical task and usually, plugins are not the greatest to do that.

Our recommendation in this case would be to get in touch with your hosting’s support. They should be able to identify the current version of jQuery you’re using and update it for you if necessary.

    Hi there @magdatabac,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
