• Hello,

I ran the jetpack update the other day and now my site gets Error 400 when I try to load the URL. I was able to login but it wn’t let me deactivate any of the plugins, like Jet Pack. Thought it might be incapatible with 3.5, but the site won’t let me upgrade to 3.6 either. In fact, it won’t let me do anything in the dashboard.

    Thank you,

    Erika

  • Try using FTP (or other file manager like Cpanel) to deactivate ALL plugins by renaming the plugins folder:

    wp-content
       plugins.HOLD

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

Thank you, I’m trying it out right now.

Ok. I renamed the plugin folder to plugin.hold. Now I can’t enter the dashboard from the login page or the web hosting control panel. Same error.

    And the other steps?

I haven’t done that yet. That will take a while. I have poor upload speeds.

Crazy. I renamed the plugins folder back to plugins and now the dashboard is working well enough to let me deactivate Jetpack.

Thank you. I appreciate your help.
