• I am getting failures all over the place… I believe it is a bad plugin, but I can’t even get into the plugin panel to deactivate all of them and start from scratch. Is there a backdoor? Any way around aside from dumping ALL of my sites???? DOA, can’t fix and can’t access the plugin panel….
btw… this error is in CHROME, on Firefox it is a TIME OUT error…

  • Try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

I get the same problem when I try to publish a post. My site is okay, you can do everything even publish texts but when you embed anything like a video, image or audio player, it brings the error.

    Any assistance?

    Thanks.

I’ve been having this same issue for a while now when trying to add or update posts. Some posts are ok, but certain content will seem to cause this ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE error in Chrome. (In Firefox, the post will process for a while and then prompt to download post.php as if it isn’t executed by there server, and in IE it will give a generic “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” error.

I’ve created a brand new installation of WordPress 3.0.1 on the same host with a different domain, and deleted every plugin, and this error happens there also. I’ve also run Check/Repair operations on all tables via PHPMyAdmin. My host has confirmed that they don’t have any mod_security settings enabled that would prevent posts from being saved.

Had this hit me out of nowhere the other day. Only sites affected were my WP sites, both the site and the admin side. Tried some of the recommended fixes from simple to complex but nothing worked.

I finally uninstalled Chrome and reinstalled it. Everything works fine now.
