I have error messages when access “your profile”, I was change my browser and change setting to receive cookies

Might you have an .htaccess issue? A redirect that is improperly configured?

I’m getting the same. I think one reason Chrome is mentioned a lot in relation to it is that Chrome gives you the error up front. Firefox sits with the little twiddly grey bar forever and a day instead of returning an error.

I get the ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS message on Chrome or timeout on FF when I click on an in-line image and then on the “edit image” icon. It’s intermittent – it works as it should for days/weeks on end and then for no apparent reason (not post update, not after a change in plugins) just stops working for a while.

As it happens across browsers, OS’s (XP Home, XP Pro, Ubuntu, Eee-buntu) and on two machines I’m tempted to think it’s a server issue – but not a .htaccess one as that also hasn’t been changed.

Yesterday I had the same problem. Both Firefox (3.5.4) and Chrome (3.0.195.27) refused to load the page. Chrome gaved me Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS). I am running WP 2.8.5.

I have changed the siteurl (option_id #2) and home (option_id #39) options (option_name column) in [wp-prefix]_options table from https://domain.com to https://www.domain.com — it solved the problem.

I guess it is some kind of strange configuration of Apache that is causing this but I must add that yesterday I was moving my localhost WP installation to that server (although the previous version of WP was doing just fine with the domain given without www. in the database).

This is NOT a browser error, I am finding it on different browsers and different OS’s, lukasztyrala answer suggest that the cause is the WordPress database is the source, this is something that needs to be fixed in WordPress. Users shouldn’t be expected to make manual changes to the database.

I finally found the solution to this problem to be a plugin disable-canonical-redirects.php.

I had this problem, and it turned out to be because of the WPML plugin.

It had been activated by accident. Once off, everything worked fine again.
