We had installed 404 Redirect to Homepage on this website. The site has an email sign up through Zoho Campaigns. Zoho then directs people to a Thank You page on our site when sign up is complete.

Prior to the installation, the redirect to the page was working fine. After installation, the redirect took users to the homepage, not to the specific Thank You page.

We have uninstalled the plugin now, and have not included the Thank You page URL here as it will cause erroneous Google Ad conversions in our stats.

Can you shed any light on why your plugin would identify the incoming redirected page request from Zoho Campaigns to the homepage, as though it were a 404? Have you seen this before?

Additionally, if we went directly to the URL of the Thank You page, it seemed to work fine.

We noticed this as we have Google Tag Manager installed on an ad campaign, and it stopped generating conversions exactly at the time that the plugin was installed.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @ekobuilt, this suggests there is an issue in the page/link or Zoho Campaigns plugin which is causing WordPress to show a 404 error.

Our plugin works by checking with WordPress if the requested link is a 404. If WordPress says “yes, this is 404”, the traffic is redirected to the homepage. This process is handled by the core is_404() function. I’d suggest reaching out to the Zoho Campaigns team and link to this forum post so they can see extra context. They should be able to help or give some extra information as to why your form/page is listed as a 404.

    Hope that helps!

Pipdig, thank you so much for this followup. We have shared this information with Zoho Campaigns and will wait to hear back. If we learn anything new, we’ll certainly let you know.
