    From your elaborate issue description I understand that you have enabled debug in your wp-config file and that a notice is displayed on some page on your site and/or dashboard when using certain settings in the widget. The best way to solve this serious issue is to change define('WP_DEBUG', true); to define('WP_DEBUG', false);.
