Erratic bahaviour with tax rates

Hello

I am trying to rectify the tax settings for my client’s site in Australia. I have inherited the site from a previous webmaster.

Under law, her prices must include GST and the only way to affect this is to choose 10% as the GST tax in Standard Tax Rates.

So far, so good.

However, she sells to New Zealand where they are exempt from our GST.

This is where the behaviour becomes erratic.

For some reason, a product with a price of $54.95 (she has entered GST inclusive prices) displays as $45.41 when New Zealand is selected as the shipping destination.

Woocommerce is stripping the GST TWICE!

First it seems to drop prices back to ex-GST which would be $49.95 which is does on the site BUT it also then takes that as the base and takes the GST away again.

Our current solution is to put ZERO tax in the standard area and add a tax for New Zealand in the Reduced Rates table, to stop the extra, erroneous subtraction of GST.

But this then renders the GST component of Woocommerce as useless because, of course, it shows zero GST for Australians.

I have to revert back to the less ideal scenario for now because the site is live.

I am really hoping there is some simple issue here.
