    hello,
    i just added a new language to my website Japanese)and i got a :
    ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS
    for the post page.

The website is translated for the page part but when it is about post with category folder i got the terrible :ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS…

I tried already with a basic theme and deactivating all the other plugins…
when i go to the category page and i can see that url/link are not yet translated.

In fact i got permanent redirect (status code 301) that redirects to the same original URL.

    What should i do?
    thank by advance

I tried with arabic language and i got the same trouble but no trouble with a polish language.
I guess there is a link with url and encoding...
Also i change manually the slug for latin letter for the name of category now it’s works also… the url of my post is translated.
and it is surprising because when the post is already translated i can come back to the japanese category name and it works!
Is like if the post is already translated there is no more trouble with the category slug.

    Greetings,

Apologies for not getting back to you any sooner!

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Please try running a conflict test:

*Briefly* disable all other plugins and enable the default Twenty Twenty theme. Please also disable all add-ons. If this fixes the problem, enable everything one by one, checking each time to see when the problem returns.

Let us know if you find the conflict so that we can take a look and see what we can do about it.

    Hello,

Following up on the ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS issue that I reported a while back. I’d like to share some updates and seek further assistance.

Interestingly, I tried with new site, the problem has resolved itself for Japanese and Russian languages. However, the issue persists for Greek and Ukrainian. Here are the specifics:

    1. For the Greek language, when I use the folder /Ν?α (which translates to “news”), the ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS error still appears.
    2. For Ukrainian, URLs with Cyrillic characters also produce the same error.

To diagnose the problem, here’s what I’ve tried:

    • Used a default theme and deactivated all plugins. The problem persisted.
    • Checked the .htaccess and wp-config.php files for potential conflicts, especially around encoding. Everything seems standard and in line with best practices.
    • Reviewed the database for any potential issues and didn’t find any apparent issues.
    • Notably, the problem only appears for posts with categories, not with pages.

Another observation is that when I manually change the slug to use Latin characters, the URLs work. Also, once a post is translated, I can revert to the original (non-Latin) category name, and it continues to work.

I’m at a bit of a loss here and am not sure where to look next to fix this. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance!

Im having a same problem with URL’s.

    Plugin auto-translates URL’s correctly:

    • /lt/kaip-parasyti-teksta/ (lithuanian)
    • /en/how-to-write-text/ (english)
    • /uk/як-написати-текст/ (ukrainian)

But when it comes to redirecting users using language switcher, switcher suggest links like ‘/lt/як-написати-текст/’ and ‘/en/як-написати-текст/’ witch turn out as 404s.

Basically, cyrilic in URL’s break redirections.
