• Hello, I posted this to the general WordPress Troubleshooting forum, but no one’s responded yet, so I thought I’d ask my fellow Hueman users. Any ideas?

Today I started getting ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE when trying to go to my WP site. This is happening with different browsers (Safari’s message looks different, of course: “cannot open the page because the network connection was lost”), on different devices (computer vs phone, incognito vs regular), and with different internet connections (wifi vs mobile LTE). I have not changed anything since updating Akismet and Wordfence Security plugins on Monday. I am hosting with a small European host that I have used for the past 15 years. Other non-WP pages on my site work just fine.

I have read other threads stating that I should deactivate all of the plugins and try again, but I can’t even get to the admin page (ie, no WP page works).

This happened earlier this afternoon and finally loaded after multiple attempts, but now it won’t load at all.

This is particularly troubling, as I made WP the main page of my website in mid-March, so visits to the top domain die now.

    Any thoughts or recommendations?

    Thank you,
    rg.

  • Hi,

Are you able to access your website frontend on your web browser?
If not, your website is offline and you need to get your web hosting company for help

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. The WP homepage (which is the domain homepage as well) is now working intermittently, but no other WP pages or posts work, including wp-admin. All non-WP pages on that server work just fine. Suggestions?

    Hi,

You should contact your web hosting company to ask them to take a look and see what’s wrong with your WordPress website.

They should be able to give you some clues.
Post their reply here for users to see and perhaps someone will be able to help you.

    Thank you
