I have two point-scored, multiple choice quizzes loaded on my site; one has 30 questions with 4 options each, the other has 32 questions with 2 options each. For some reason, the first quiz works perfectly, but the second one generates an error message upon submission: “ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE. Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.”

There does not appear to be any significant difference between the two quizzes other than the number of multiple choice options per question. But obviously something somewhere is different… Any idea what might be causing the one quiz to crash?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Hello mikecostanzo,

Thank you for using our plugin!

That is very interesting issue indeed. Lets try a few troubleshooting techniques:

    1. Have tried a different browser?

    2. Could we have a link to the quiz so we can try and debug it?

    3. If you are using the Chrome browser try deleting your internet cache and history.

    Eric,

Thanks for the response! The problem has been resolved–kind of.

The main problem was that my Results page was calling code that was taking more than 30 seconds to generate. But because the site was hosted on an old server, rather than return a usable PHP error, it just mysteriously closed the connection. I have since switched the site to a new server, which helps me to see what’s going wrong. So, I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved.

Sorry to trouble you unnecessarily. Thanks again for the help and for the awesome plugin!

    Hi mikesostanzo,
