ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED

  • So right after WordPress 5.0.3 update, this message started appearing when trying to access our website home and other content pages. I was able to get into the WordPress admin/dashboard for our site.

    This site cant be reached The webpage at our domain might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED

    Turning off your plugin fixed the issue. Any other suggestions?

  • It could be related to “double compression” if your server compresses content “on the fly”. Did you try to uncheck Compress pages so they’re served more quickly to visitors. (WPSC Settings/Advanced)?

    I was running into same problem. Unchecking Compress pages so they’re served more quickly to visitors. (WPSC Settings/Advanced) helped. Thanks a ton!!
