• Hi there,

I’ve created a new wordpress site within my Hostgator account
Using the Mojo installer it’s installed v 4.4.1
I’ve tried uploading a theme and 2 plugins but each time it takes a long time and eventually returns an ERR CONNECTION ABORTED error
    Any ideas

I’ve never had a problem uploading before?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Try to upload the theme and plugins via file manager from Hostgator cpanel. You should put your theme inside wp-content/themes/ and the plugins inside wp-content/plugins/. Don’t forget to extract the zip file after upload.

    Thanks

That’s what I ended up doing but its the first time in a number of years I’ve had to resort to that ‘old’ painful way.

Never had a problem before with uploading .zip files via the WP interface so wondered whether there were some issues as I’d used Mojo, or if any directory permissions may be set incorrectly.

    Any thoughts very welcome ??

    Thx

    Jon

If it’s because directory permission, the error message will be different. But you can check the plugins folder and check the permission is 755 or 777.
