Erases only the used

I can’t unfortunately see your screenshot here, you need to upload it somewhere else. The process of checking if the file is used or not is very complex and can’t work in all the cases, so it depends a lot on your install / theme / plugins, but it works perfectly in 80% cases.

I am working on a new version of the plugin. Right now, the plugin doesn’t propose you to delete alternate image sizes, only the whole media (if none of the sized images are used).

This is not my case because all the photos it gives are those used. Moreover I have uninstalled this one view that does not respect the logic for unused images. But I can reinstall it and send you a new capture.

Do you remember where/how is it used? Normally, the plugin works extremely well with images used in posts and pages. If the plugin mark those images has to be deleted, I would need to see the HTML used for those images in your posts/pages. That’s definitely something I would love to fix right away ??

For info the pictures of each links are used on all pages, but those in (+ XX) impossible to know since there is no submenu

For an example, let’s take one image here, such as Insignes-bleu.jpg. How is it used on your website? Where can I see it in the HTML? In your post?

There are still more than 460 unidentified pictures which is huge

I guess I know why, it looks like all your images are being added by sliders and another specific plugin, through shortcodes probably. And it seems like you are using those all over your websites. This is not very usual ?? This can be handled if I choose to support the plugin you are using heavily on your website but it’s pretty rare.

But also, the next solution I am working on right now will support this.

No I disagree, 90% of the images are added via the site by MEDIA by a simple copy / paste or added. But in no case we go through a plugins etc …

In the post you shared with me there are 3 images/parts:

– first in a slider (prettyphoto?)
– second is indeed an image, the classes in it are vc_single_image-img, disappear and appear. It looks like you are using a plugin, VC might stand for Visual Composer. This is not a simple Media Insert, it’s using a plugin that might use a shortcode.
– third is a layerslider

So I would need to implement additional checks for Pretty Photo, Visual Composer and Layer Slider ??

As said Yes in the 100%, 10% are used by Visua composer.
The rest is managed classic through galleries. I think your plugins scan once launched normally and when it has detested a via VC in fact can not come back to the classic it is what gives all the photos in errors.

Since your website makes a very heavy usage of plugins and not going through the normal WordPress flow (believe me :p), and since I am also working on another solution to handle everything, I would be actually happy to beta-test something with you, which might end up in cleaning your website very accurately too. I will not support those special cases for now, it’s too much checks to do and can’t be accurate. I will keep the plugin light because it works very well with a standard WordPress, but I will add a new feature that will support everything sometimes soon. So I will mark it as resolved, I will add that for now Visual Composer is not supported.

For your information, Visual Composer is a big plugin, with many short codes, it’s completely overriding the way WordPress let the users edit their posts and how those posts are generated afterwards. My plugin cannot detect this.
