    You can use the equalizer plugin option “data-equalize-on” i.e. (data-equalize-on=”medium”) or disable the height equalization when stacked on smaller screens with “data-equalize-on-stack”. You can find more information here under ‘Plugin Options’.

    If you want to try and use css, here is a discussion that explains how to use a custom class for the equalizer with media queries. I haven’t tried this so I can’t say if it works 100%.
