Epound theme update question

  • I am a relatively new WP admin to a wordpress site heavily using the expound theme. The site is using a very old version (1.9) of the theme and it became unresponsive when trying to customize the theme ufor both new and old sites on the network. When I click customize, I get a blank page instead of showing my current theme. This issue may very well be because of the outdated version. However, a designer have built an elaborate custom setup around this theme, which we use as a primary theme for our mulisite setup. So I was wondering, if I network update the theme in the multisite setup, will it reset all the custom options on the individual sites?

    do you have a child theme?
    We must maintain a theme, you need the latest version of the above.

    If the update is done from the main site, this should affect all the other sites.
