This plugin has been working great and is still pulling through new podcast episodes on the page.

BUT, it doesn’t appear to be creating blog posts so when I click on ‘podcast archive’ none of the new podcasts are there.

I’ve tried a manual import but it states that there are no new episodes.

    Can you help?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!
The plugin should always create entries (in your “posts” section or via any other post type)

Please make sure the correct “post type” is selected when you import the podcast. In case you already imported episodes in the past, the plugin may skip those even if those are in the trash or set as drafts – you’ll have to remove those completely in order to re-import.

Wow! You guys are super quick in responding! Brilliant!

The post type just says ‘post’ and is set for ‘published’. There’s nothing in draft, or the bin.

If you are using the Buzzsprout plugin, they may have imported episodes for you and that’s why ours can’t re-import the episodes.
The “Pro” version of the plugin allows to run a “force re-sync” so it would direct the imported episodes to the correct post type, not matter if they exist elsewhere.

Otherwise, you’d have to remove all items imported by Buzzsprout and re-import manually to the “Posts” post type.

No, the Buzzsprout plugin was never used on this site.

I’ve already tried a manual import but it states that the episodes already exist. They do, just not the blog post.

Alright, I see – sorry for the confusion with Buzzsprout.
What do you mean then that the posts do exist? Do you see them anywhere in the admin panel?

No, even stranger. The episodes exist in the podcast page (front end) where they’re featured using the shortcode from Buzzsprout.

But, in the blog, they’ve never been created.

If you look on the page URL I posted, you’ll see that the most recent episode. If you then click the button titled ‘podcast archive’ it’ll take you to the category in the blog – recent episodes aren’t there. Try a search – still not there. And in the back end, not there. Very odd.

The podcast account IS with Buzzsprout but their own plugin wasn’t used to import. Is there a Buzzsprout known issue?

I guess that means that it’s not importing at all. But when I try, it says they’re already there.

I don’t think there’s any issue with Buzzsprout, I just thought you were using their plugin to import items.

I was able to import your feed (https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1491655.rss) to a dev server so there isn’t any issue with the plugin itself. I can see all episodes in the appropriate post type.

Sounds like there are existing entries in your database with the exact same info/titles as your episodes – there’s no other explanation from what I can tell.

You can also try to use our Pro plugin and do a “force re-sync” as that may help moving those imported posts to the right place.

    UPDATE….

Hi, it’s all sorted. The client had updated/changed the podcast so there was a new feed ID.

I’ve just managed to import everything.

This plugin rocks! And the support. Going to leave a very positive review now. ??
