    Hi,

I’m trying to edit and customize my podcast page (the main episode page where all of my podcast episodes are). I can’t seem to figure this out after a week of thorough searching.

I’ve followed the instructions on this page: https://www.seriouslysimplepodcasting.com/doc/creating-custom-podcast-templates/
and copied my archive.php file renamed it archive-podcast.php. The last thing the instructions say is “This new file will now control the display of your podcast episodes archive so you can customize it as much as you like.”

How do I customize it and where? My main idea is to edit it like a normal page but there is no “podcast” page that I can edit under where all of my pages are listed on my wordpress dashboard.

If someone can give me some insight that’d be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Sandy

    Hi Sandy,

Thanks for the message, and great question about how to customize your podcast page. We adopt the archive.php page that your WordPress theme creates, and by creating an archive-podcast.php page you’re able to customize just the podcast page on your website, which is in fact just a unique type of archive page just for podcast episodes.

You’ll need to know a bit about how your theme works but generally you’ll want to add, delete, or change the aspects of that archive-podcast.php page that you want to alter to get the page to look and feel like you want. I can’t answer specifically without knowing what your existing page looks like and what you’re after, but that’s the idea behind how to tackle it.

If you have any specifics let us know.

    Craig

Hi Craig, I’d certainly appreciate knowing a little more on how to accomplish an archive page please. How do I reference that page in my site?
    Dave
