Episode Already Imported – except not

    Hi,
    I’ve been using the PowerPress plugin successfully since 2018 and it has worked flawlessly consistently. No issues whatsoever.
    Now suddenly, I have an issue. Nothing has changed on the server side as far as I know.
    New episodes won’t get imported, with the error being “Episode Already Imported”. However, it only impacts some episodes.

    So the last episodes are:
    97 – imported fine
    96 – imported fine
    95 – did not import
    94 – imported fine
    93 – imported fine

    When I run the import again, this is the screen I get.

    There are ZERO post drafts or posts sitting in Trash. That’s all empty. I have cleared all caches, deactivated all caching related plugins but yet I get the same.

    The feed clearly works since the below shows that it recognises all episodes, it just that it says it has imported it even though it haven’t.

    What could be wrong and what could I try?

    The import podcast feature is for one-time importing of a podcast feed to WordPress / PowerPress. Not a work-flow.

    Likely the GUID of the post you are trying to import matches one that was or is already used on your WordPress installation.

    Try manually posting that episode in WordPress ( as would be normal for podcasting with PowerPress) and just backdate the episode to keep it in the feed in the right order.
