  • I’m not too fond of splash screens. Everything else looks pretty darn good though.
    Especially like the header.
You could add a little spacing between your columns and not have the text run right to the edge. Overall, good design – just needs a little cleaning here and there.

damn i love those shadows. not sef but looks cool ??

    Thanks:)
If you could tell me what browser and screen size you are on, it will help me figure out how to adjust for what you are seeing with the column width. The splash screen is iffy…not sure if I will keep that or not.
What is sef, by the way? Not sure on that slang;)

Oh, ok! Yes, you are right…I am not concerned with search engines at all. Thanks:)

I added some padding in the columns…hope this is a bit better. I really appreciate the input :~D

Looking good! Could still maybe use some space between the categories (blogs shae reads etc.) and that vertical line on the left (maybe addd some padding-left to #menu ul li in the CSS?). I’m using Firefox on WinXP BTW. HTH.

Love the header! The whole things looks great =) Make me wish I wasn’t so bad at graphics… I agree that it would look better with some padding as per eric’s suggestion.
And I actually like spash screens (though I haven’t used one myself in years).

    agreed with eric.

I can only echo what’s already been said – a bit of padding on the menu would do wonders.
And for me personally, links that change their size when hovered over kind of make me cringe a little… Maybe just having the top/bottom borders without changing the font weight would look better?

Thanks everyone…all this helped so much, you guys (and girls) are great! I think I’ve got some padding added there now. My screen and browser shows some significant room there, but I am not sure how it reflects on others’ setup. I am grateful for the help and tips, being pretty new to WP.
One other question, where do I look to add some space between the link categories?
    Thanks again!
    Peace,
    ~S~

There is an error in your index file which prevents proper spacing (and will cause your page not to validate). You cannot wrap the link categories with <li id="links">
as the function generates one for each link category. Once you delete that li wrap the spacing should show up correctly.

Hmm. It did change the spacing…now the categories are as close to the links as the link categories are to eachother. What I’d like is an extra space between each section, and it isn’t obvious to me how to do this.

If I understand you correctly, you can add a padding-bottom on categories to create more distance from the link categories (if you have given the li tag for categories an id).

Nice site, I like how you used the color green. The header is sharp, how did you make the entire header image a link?
