Ephemirids plugin with my own data?

Does anyone remember the old phpnuke ephemerids module?

I need a reasonable facsimile to function in WP. I have the old code, and my all important data table, of course. But how do I put it together so I can post the results to a static WP homepage?

I guessed I needed a plugin, which I created, but there was a weird issue I couldn’t fix … ie: before the output, the page would display something like “array()” and then the content. I gave up on it for that time, but now I’m back to thinking about how to get this project out of the dark ages and into some WP.
