EOM 'drops' the event at the time it starts

The system automatically ‘drops’ the event at the time the event starts – i.e., an event starts at Noon on Aug 9 … then the event drops off the page at Noon on that day. How do we get events to stay ‘active’ on the website for the entire day of the event?
