.entry (read more) text color

I’m trying to edit the link attributes of the read more links only. It seems to be controlled by the .entry class in the CSS, but when I make changes to anything .entry, it’s overriding my regular a:link definitions of the links in my posts.

I must be missing something. Do a need to add a new style/class to effect just the entry, or is something wrong that causing other links to be effected by .entry styles.
