Hello, I wrote to you over a week ago after I had to uninstall and then reinstall the Thirsty Affiliate update.

I’m having a couple of problems when entering add a New Link. First, there is now a Yoast SEO box in the middle of filling out the new link (which I don’t fill out the Yoast info). Second, whenever I fill out a new link either on the add new link page OR within my post my social shares plugin shares it on my Facebook page and my Twitter page as if a new post of mine had been published. I had to delete 26 affiliate links from Facebook and Twitter. My affiliate links are working, but I’m not sure what to do about this. Any advice is greatly appreciated. (I love your plugin)

  • Hi @chicfablove,

Thanks for the message, good to hear from you again.

The Yoast box is an easy fix. Just goto SEO->Titles & Meta, then click the Post Types tab and turn off the meta box for the affiliate links post type. While you’re there you might also like to goto SEO->XML Sitemaps and make sure its off for that too.

For the social sharing issue. What plugin are you using? I highly recommend you get in touch with them ASAP. That’s a bit of a problem if they’re just blindly sharing any new post of ANY post type.

Let me know and I might be able to reach out to them as well.

    Thanks!

Thank you so much! The Yoast box is gone and the Social Shares plugin that was at the bottom of the page when the Yoast box was there, is gone too. Maybe that was the problem. Thank you again for the help!
