• I’m setting up some product pages and am using a FAQ plugin to create a bunch of faqs to contain related content. My idea is to place all this content (required for my product pages) into those faqs and then use a shortcode to display the faq content in the product pages. I’m glad I discovered this because I thought I was going to have to enter this directly into each product (and multiple tabs therein) and manage each of them from then on by going in and updating each one… Jesus!

This faq system seems to be ok. The shortcode is .. short. I have asked the developer if I can exclude the faq title as it displays the faq along with the title so the user must click to open out the faq content first. I just want the content shown automatically in the product pages/tabs.

Just wondering though if there may be a core feature of WordPress or an alternative and better plugin to perform this kind of centralising and calling of information. I am new to wordpress.

    thanks

You are right to avoid duplicating data. Such data can be stored any number of ways and output any number of ways, but any option is going to require some sort of code. If your theme or a plugin doesn’t provide the functionality, it needs to be custom coded. It sounds like a shortcode is as good as any solution for you.

Yep having a look at some other Plugin alternatives..
    1) RPS Include Content
    2) Insert Pages

Getting them to work with the tabs a bit trickier than a straight WordPress page. Some minor reformatting occurring.

Actually that’s a good idea. I have a theme in mind and will contact them as well. They might have it covered.
