To do that you need little bit customization of the plugin. Go download-manager->download.php file in editor, find out Enter Password and replace with Password

I want to use Password in english version and Passwort in german version of my website, which runs with WPML.

My question in other words: How may I re-translate original text of your plugin with WPML?

Your answer would mean, that I would have to manually check each and every time an update arrives for changes. And if so, manually change text. Every time. Again and again! Isnt that a little error-prone?

Asking the WPML support staff the same simple question, I get a much better advice than yours, which works like a charm and enables me to keep updating without checking for changes all the time.

Sorry that, my answer was not very elaborate. What I meant was, to create German language, you need to copy wpdmpro.po and rename it to wpdmpro-de_DE.po and change the texts there , but we didn’t use wpml plugin, so it is hard to say how wpml operates ?? .
