Enter is not working in visual editor

    I am creating content but Enter is not working. I am not getting a new paragraph block when I press enter. I am not getting anything when press enter, It’s like something is wrong with the enter key.

    But If I switch to custom HTML, it works perfectly. I also tried the classic editor plugin and enter key works perfectly to create a new paragraph. But it’s not working only in the visual editor. I tried switching diffrent themes and deactivated the plugins, but nothing worked.

    Also one thing I noticed, when the visual editor page is in the process of loading, enter works to create paragraph and once the page is fully loaded then the enter key does not work. Can somebody help?

    I think you have some other script, likely introduced by a plugin or your theme, that’s hijacking all Enter keypress events. As a test, try switching to a default Twenty* theme and deactivating all plugins. Your Enter key should now work as expected. Restore your normal theme and plugins, one at a time, testing after each. When the problem returns, the last activated module is the cause. Take up the issue through that module’s dedicated support channel.

    @bcworkz Thanks for your response. I actually did everything that you wrote as a lot of the people in forums and support were recommending to do the same. deactivating plugins, and the original theme, clearing cache and cookies. RIP to my saved data. but as a last resort, I started deactivating the extensions and with the very 1st google chrome extension, the problem was solved.
