How do I insert the code for the TM symbol (™) in the tagline under General Settings? The web admin page clearly won’t take it, so I’m thinking I have to enter it manually in bloginfo(‘description’). But I’ve poked around a lot and can’t see where I can do that.

(ps–I think I’m at the mercy of my server host regarding the old version of WordPress.)

    Thanks

  • I’m not sure myself, now you ask. Depending on the character set you choose, maybe results vary.

My first shot would be this. ??

    ™

Just worked perfectly on my site, and I’m running UTF-8, very plain vanilla.

I’m guessing that you may be pasting a trademark symbol from Word or a Mac or something?

    Good luck, Dave

    Thanks.

    That worked.

    I had tried using
    ?

and it just copied the actual letters and numbers. Of course maybe I made some other mistake in entering it. It worked fine in the title of this post, tho.

I give up. I just spent 20 minutes trying to show the actual code I had used and this stupid editor insists on interpreting it with the symbol regardless of how I try to wrap it in backticks or whatever.

WOW! Okay, ™ worked perfect on my site for the TM; however i am looking desperately to insert a (r), or registered trademark. Could you please help? i would greatly appreciate it! cheers, all.
