Ensim package WordPress for Windows Hosting software

  • like Plesk and cPanel, Ensim is also another hosting automation software. My webhost is using Ensim Pro on linux. Ensim provides one-click web application install for the hostees as “Power Tools”

    I check out Ensim website and interestingly, they list b2 bloging software for linux hosting while WordPress for Windows hosting.

    In addition, I also noticed that they link to wordpress.com rather than www.remarpro.com

    They seems to suggest that WordPress performs better on windows server than on linux server. Linux server hostees should stick to b2. That give rise to a question to me:

    “do wordpress really perform better under windows server?”

  • I think a better question is “Where do they come up with these things?” Suggestion or not.

    They only way I can imagine WP operating better under Windows is if the Windows server is seriously optimized and Linux is running on a 386.

    I looked over the site…. they NEVER said that WP is “Better” on Windows, just that it is an OPTION on a Windows host plan, while B2 isn’t. That’s all. Nothing more, nothing less.

    All right that’s better, but A. I don’t know of a (technical) reason not to offer it on Linux, and B. They need to correct the url. I’ve sent along a message to their webmaster about (B).

    I am just puzzled why WordPress is offered as an option under windows hosting. I have experience difficulties in getting mySQL and apache to work under windows server hence I am really curious on HOW WordPress can perform on it.

    On the other hand, I feel that WordPress have many improvements over b2. Hence, why not offer WordPress on Linux hosting as well.

    Just like to seek opinions before I contact them.

    No, it wouldn’t be mySQL & Apache on a Windows box…. it would be mySQL & PHP running on an IIS machine. B2 probably has some limitation that prevents it from runnign on an IIS host. They note that WP is avail as an option should you be running the IIS plan – which you may be doing for a number of reasons.

    whatever is the reason, I am glad that I have the option to switch to WP and not stick to the default config. ??
