‘Enrolled Course’ email will not save new wording

  • I’m trying to re-write the content of the ‘enrolled course’ email template that gets sent to the User. In the ’email content’ box (set as HTML) I am copy-pasting the content I want. I then hit ‘save settings’ and every time it just clears my entered content and reverts to ‘plain text’ and the standard content of:
    == {{header}} ==

    ** Congrats! You have enrolled course “{{course_name}}” {{course_url}} **

    == {{footer}} ==

    It refuses to save with the new content I’m trying to put in. Even if I just try to input some of the suggested ‘variables’ it still doesn’t save the changes.

    FYI: I believe this error has been triggered by updating to the newest version of LearnPress. I updated this morning to version 3.2.7. This is causing me a huge problem. Please can I get a reply?

    I am having the exact same issue! It is so frustrating.

    I hope they fix the bug asap. Are you able to modify your color scheme too? When I edit the emails as well as the color scheme, it reverts back to the default

    Now when trying to alter another email template and clicking ‘save settings’ I am redirected to this error page:

    This is a seriously problematic bug. I was on the verge of launching my new online course, customising the automated emails was the last task before going live. This bug is now costing me time and money. Please fix this ASAP.

    Oh no! I haven’t had that issue yet, but hoping someone in support can help us.

    We are launching today and I needed this fixed today too.

    Hopefully we both get things resolved! It is a serious issue for sure…

    Hi there!

    I found a resolution to all of this! I installed a plugin called ‘WP File Manager’ that you can use to edit the template files directly. The templates are in wp-content/plugins/learnpress/templates/emails/plain/

    I also installed WP Mail SMTP, WordFence, and Easy Updates Manager

    From here you can edit your templates, and hopefully your emails go out too. Mine just started working when I did this!

    Thanks @kaitlinkinzinger, glad you found a solution. I’m still going to wait to hear from the support on here to see if there’s a bug-fix solution.

    Nope, still doesn’t work. I guess we’re going to have to wait until they release another update (as per @hadam303 message above). Which is utterly frustrating and problematic but hey…
