Enhancing a mailing list already established

    Hi, ICM-USA would like to request their current mailing list (email address only) recipients improve their contact info with a mailing address — any way to do that via MC4WP? As in, if their recipients were sent to a new MC4WP form that required a mailing address, would that information pass to Mailchimp if the email address was recognized upon form submission and simply add the mailing address to the recipient’s contact info? I guess I could do a simple test of that function but thought I’d pick the brain of the plugin’s developers first in case there is something I should know first. ?? Thanks in advance!

    Under MC4WP > Form > Settings you can set it to Update subscribers. With that set to yes, existing subscribers will be updated with the data filled in the form.

    @lapzor, two wrap-up questions on: https://icmusa.org/subscriber-info/
    1. why is the Phone Number field different from the others styles-wise?
    2. can the Country field NOT be that massive drop-down menu, and instead just be a blank field for the user to enter their country?

    1. Your theme adds styling to all the other fields but not the field of type “tel”. You could either ask your theme developer to fix that, or you can change the phone field’s code to type=”text” so it’s styles the same.

    2. I recommend you use a normal text field for Country, not the “country” field that is part of the Mailchimp address field.
    I do not recommend using the field of type “address” in Mailchimp. It has very strict validation and needs to be a full and complete address with state and country and everything or else Mailchimp will just drop the whole address. Better to use normal text fields for the data you want to collect, and then you won’t have this issue.
