    Hi,

We can only get this plugin to work if we disable this security setting on our VSL.

    Server Security/SMTP Restrictions

If we do not disable it then the plugin attempts to connect to our local SMTP server which does not support XOAUTH2 and so the email fails.

However as there is no indication that the plugin has failed it takes quite a while for us (and our customer) to become aware of it. This leads to loss of business.

So, are you able to add some sort of alert indicating that the plugin has started to fail? Maybe accessible from the WordPress dashboard?

This is a particular issue for us as we are reluctant to completely disable the Server Security/SMTP Restrictions as it leaves our server open to abuse so we tweak the setting instead. Unfortunately this tweak sometimes gets overwritten by the server software updates. This leads to the plugin failing.
