• The ProPhoto WordPress theme is very popular with photographers. It’s a pretty good theme, but seems to do things its own way in many areas.

One of them is thumbnanils – when it creates thumbnails it uses a non-standard naming scheme, examples of the filesnames are below. The actual numbers vary

Is there any way you could exclude these thumbnails from your backup? It would be a significant benefit for many photographers with media heavy websites. Heck if you even give me a hint where to start I may be able to do it in the source, but I’m not a PHP programmer and I’d probably make a bit of a mess of it.

  • Just in case it matters, you’re able to have ProPhoto delete every ‘cached’ image it creates before you do a backup… you have a button which clears them from your server, here:

“ProPhoto” > “Customize” > “Site Settings” > “Misc.” > “Image downsizing” > “Delete modified images”

The downside is that every page that is visited after this may take longer to load, as the web server will re-create any downsizes it needs.

Slightly off-topic, but thought it could be helpful since it’s related to your question for this plugin. ??
